Thought for Today: You have to take every hit like you are going to make it to base.

Thought for Today: You have to take every hit like you are going to make it to base.

Recently, I watched a Cubs game at Wrigley Field with the amazing CEO of Shedwool, Cory Warfield. During one at-bat, a Cubs player hesitated right after he “hit” the ball. Had he taken off running right away, then he would’ve been safe on first. But nope. He’s out. That second hesitation made the difference. And what did Cory say? “You have to take every hit like you are going to make it to base.”

So how does this translate to us? Well, if you want to #movetheball forward, whenever you hit the ball (i.e. take purposeful action to get you closer to your goal), you need to “run” like you are going to make it to base. Swing that bat and GO!!!! Don’t hesitate or wait to see what happens or if someone is going to stop you. Run at full-speed and get on that base!  Own your game and move!

Don’t be afraid. Successful people never give or take any excuses (or wait to see if something happens). They keep moving, getting on base, and sliding into home plate. Whatever you hold in your mind on a consistent basis is exactly what you will experience in your life. Believe that you CAN, keep on swinging, elevate your hustle, and get on base! (I know I normally would use football analogies but we need to mix it up, after all it is ⚾️ season!)
Regardless of what sports analogy I use, remember to always move the ball!
